Hello. I have iMovie 09 and the old iMovie HD. I want to make some Burns effect movies but found the above programs somewhat limited. Are there any new features/functions for making Burns effect movies under Final Cut Pro X? Thanks.

In Final Cut Pro X you actually have to build the effect yourself. It's pretty easy once you know what to do.

The nice thing about professional editors is that they have keyframes. So you can change a value over a certain time.

In FCPX you just have to hit the keyframe button on the frame you want the motion to start, then you go to the point you want the motion to stop (most likely the end of the clip) and you move the picture again. Now play it back and it should move.

Personally I like premiere pro much better as you can entirely define how the curve of the motion is going. e.g. first fast, than slow.

Here's a video tutorial.

All top hits on google ("ken burns fcpx") were relevant. Did you even try to find out yourself?
