Just gave a look at prices of the JetDrive replacement for my son's late 2015 13" MBA which came with a mere 128GB, it still costs around 140 euros, wondering if there is any other stable solution which creates no issues like hibernation etc

Grazie

The 2015 Pro and Air have no hibernation problem with a nvme drive.

All third party drives will have hibernation problems with the 2013 and 2014 pro and Air unless you flash a modded bootrom.

A simple solution is a short, black Sintech adapter with an Adata sx8200 pro.

Air will need to run high Sierra or Mojave. I also recommend upgrading to the latest bootrom before installing a nvme drive.

Or you can get the black Sintech adapter and get a Samsung 970 EVO 1TB or 2TB NVMe M.2 drive to put in. Although the 970 EVO will use up more power, you're getting a lot more storage and can still have useable battery life. I have no complaints.

I just went with ADATA SX8200 Pro 512GB & a green short adapter from AliExpress. Loss 7% battery in first night of sleep. I shall monitor for a longer period before changing pmset setting.

So far so good!
