When Apple introduced Facetime they said it would be open for others to use.

Any word of any other phone or device maker trying to implement it? I only have a few friends who have iPhone 4's so my Facetime circle is very small.

I know we can expect all future iOS devices to have it.

What about android or others?

Thoughts?

Indeed they did. They haven't actually published the spec after they said that however, so nobody knows what to do yet.

I guess that would explain it. Thanks.

Hope they open it up soon. Not a all of my friends will buy iPhones.

Yeah, they said that FaceTime protocol was going to be OpenSource, but they haven't publish the APIs or the source yet.
