Any news on Apogee mini display port to HDMI with audio?

First apologies if this should be in the peripherals section.

I was interested in the article on apogee's new mini display port adaptor which claims to able to carry LPCM audio:

I am looking at getting a mac mini to play m2ts files with HD audio. I am unaware however if OSX can do LPCM? Will part of the adaptor 'covert' the audio form HD (True-HD or DTS-HD) to LPCM?

With the speculation that Blu-ray may (I am not very hopeful) be coming to the next revision of the iMac will OSX be able to play the HD audio?

The last thing I heard was gizmodo reviewing the thing July 31st and said it would be released within the week, but it hasn't been released yet so I'll give it another week.
