Any news on the Airport Express refresh?

Back in mid-September there was a rumour suggesting code for an updated Airport Express was found in the Airport Utility code. But nearly 2 months passed and there isn't any update so far.

I want to buy an Express for travelling, especially after the release of Airport Utility for iOS, but the current one has received quite a lot of negative reviews, while the reviews have been generally very positive for the Extreme.

What do you think?
 
I'd wait it out. The recent upgrades to the Extremes and TC's was a big improvement, so I'd expect the same from the Express refresh.
