Found out I need Monterey for new Xcode/Swift frameworks like Async/Await. Why isn't a perfectly capable 2014 MBP not supported? I'm supposed to buy a new M1 MBP just so I can use a new Swift framework?

Officially Big Sur won't work.

However, searching around it's trivial to install Monterey on a 2014 MBP with OpenCore Legacy Patcher. Everything works since 2014 is only one year earlier than the supported 2015 MBPs.

Have any of you installed Monterey on a 2014 MBP? Async/Await and other Swift 5.5 frameworks building on Xcode 13 and your 2014 MBP?
