Any one know a read along app(TTS)?

I am very happy with the built in TTS option in Apple devices (Accessiblity->Spoken Content->Speak selection) as the Siri voice is very human like but the problem is that the read-along function is out of whack. In past years it used to work great but now it malfunctioned and Apple has not fixed in a long time.

I heard of Speechify but I am not sure what it is as it has many complex options and I am very privacy conscience. I dont want spyware!
