Now that the iPad 3 is coming out, iPad 2's are sure to drop in price. Anyone looking forward to buying either a new, used or refurbished iPad 2?

I am, as much as I would love to buy the latest and greatest my wallet just cant pass on a price drop on a tablet that is still incredibly powerful and useful. Anyone with me?

the high res display is worth the price difference in my opinion.

I absolutely agree with you! retina display has always been on my wishlist for the iPad and definitely wish the iPad 2 had it. But the display didnt really tip the scale for my purchasing decision because even without the retina display the ipad 2 would still be usable.
Stuff that did tip the scale for me came in the camera, which is why i opt out from buying the first ipad. unless the ipad 3 comes with a new physical feature i think the ipad 2 will still make me a happy camper.

yeah i don't care that much about the faster processor of the iPad 3 compared to the 2, but the retina display is a deal breaker for me.

Unless the price increases dramatically i wouldn't pass on getting the latest.

I doubt that there are very few here who would not pay even more for the iPad 3. If truth be told, several people, here, would scarifice their left nut for the iPad 3.

I'm thinking if I can get an iPad 2 for $200 to $250, or original iPad for $175-$200 I'd pick one up for my parents.:D

Some $250 deals are already showing up on Craigslist, but I imagine there will be more on announcement day or the after, and the flood of units will make it hard to sell them which may motivate sellers to bargain down.

There are rumors that Apple will introduce an 8 gig iPad 2, if I'm not mistaken. If true, this would be for the middle-tier to compete against the likes of Kindle Fire/Nook, and future, cheaper Android tablets.

I'm torn between the two choices as well. Im sure I can score a cheap iPad 2 wi-fi 64GB but if I spring for the iPad 3 I'd likely not upgrade it for a couple years. If I get the iPad 2 now I'd be too tempted to upgrade again the following year.
