Any one tried one of the new iMacs with a 30" display?

Hi all:

I'm wondering if any one has been able to try driving a 30" display with one of the new iMacs (with the mini-display port) using a dual-link DVI adapter? If you have, could you let me know how it's worked for you?

Apple's specs say it can do this with the right adapter, but given how many problems people have been having with Macbook Pros and external displays, I thought I'd ask about the iMacs before making a decision.

Good question.

The dual-link adapter has shocking reviews. I doesn't sound like a good investment at all. Sell your iMac and get a Mac Pro?

I was thinking of buying one to hook up to my 30" Dell, but I have doubts that it will actually work. Apple's really dropped the ball on this one since it affects the whole product line (including Mac Pros, because they too come with a mini-display port, as well as a regular dual-link port, as I recall).
