I need a 230 or 240mm wrist band. The largest apple band only goes to 215mm. I'm 6'3" and 250lbs which in texas is not that unusual but I do want an apple watch but it's unclear what to do about the bands.

Woah dude, those are some big wrists! I'm 6ft and 200lbs and my wrists are about 180mm.

Seriously though, it would have to be a third party band or if Apple starts selling extra links for the SS band.

Yeah it sucks. Big wrists, ankles, knees, head (and a few other things). Hats, boots, and watches have always been a problem.

The link bracelet looks like links can be added but I can't find anything official on that. I wish apple would give out more information for those who want to preorder. I would buy the $1000 SS link combo if I knew links could be added.

There are kick starters on band adapters (allow you to use non apple bands with an apple watch) but those are not real products yet. I'm sure one or more of them will get launched if the Apple watch sales merit but who knows. The population of people like me may be too small.

My current watch is set at 240mm and fits great.

All right.

If you want a band to wear on day one and can handle not using Apple Pay/use any heart rate feature... I have a (crazy) answer for you.

It's the NATO strap.

Here's what I'd do. I'd get the 42mm Black Classic Buckle and then cut off the leather from the slide-in, end connectors. With those connectors now free, you can insert the NATO strap.

You can see the free space and how this is possible in this image:

If that works for you... you might even get a tailor or someone who's good with a sewing machine to cut the straps blocking the heart rate sensor and sew them to their respective sides.

I know I'm crazy, but it's an option.

Duct tape.

Happily I should be able to wear the SS Link as is or minus ONE link. I also have a feeling they might make extra links available for purchase. Others could also easily get at least $20 per link for their extras. Hopefully Apple will sell a few for a decent price considering what we paid for the rest of it.

HMM. just tried to measure the inside of my current Seiko Link. It will be close.

Interesting idea about the classic buckle...or finding people with extra links. Thanks.

That would probably work.

After trying them on, I found the Milanese loop will fit big wrist people. They made it extra long so the magnet would sit on the bottom. If you have a big wrist, the magnet just starts moving up the side.

I ordered the leather classic buckle which did fit my 220mm wrist on the last hole. Like all leather I would expect it to stretch over time from sweat. I will be ordering a Milanese loop if or when I discover extra links for the link bracelet won't be made available.

That's a great suggestion.

The classic is supposed to fit up to 215mm. The Milanese only up to 200mm.
