Any options for getting contact photos from social media?

Apple removed Facebook contact syncing from Mac and iOS, and I think FB deprecated that ability as well. And I definitely don’t want to upload my entire contacts to FB, but...

I really miss having my iPhone contacts photos synced up with my friends profile photos. Does anyone know a way to safely do this these days?

The only safe way is to manually add the contact photos. There are apps like sync.me but they ask for all your contacts and social media data, so you're trading one evil for the other.

I made a habit of finding one good photo of a contact, but iCloud contacts are funky to say the least. After a few weeks or months the set pictures turn extremely lowres or only display a tiny avatar circle on calls. Pretty annoying.
