Any Phone Plan on iPhone 1st Gen 2.2 Firmware

I have a 1st gen iPhone with 1.1.4 firmware. It is jailbroken to use any sim card that is inserted into it. I also use bossprefs to disable edge so that I don't accidentally use data via safari, youtube, etc. since I don't pay for a data plan. My plan has 1400 minutes and infinite texting via a family plan.

If I upgrade to firmware 2.2.1, will any sim card work with that firmware without jailbreaking it? Or if I jailbroke that firmware with winpwn, would my sim card with MY plan work with 2.2.1?

I'll be helpful.

When you upgrade to 2.2.1 you will relock your phone. You will have to unlock the phone with WinPWN (or the other variants) and disable Edge with BossPrefs.

You will HAVE to rejailbreak to disable Edge. (Or call AT&T and have them forcibly disable all Data on your number)
