Is there any point of having WiFi enabled if one uses an Ethernet connection?

I thought it was needed for continuity but I disabled wifi on my iMac and didn't really notice any difference with Handoff etc.

It seems to be required for Airdrop to work, at least on my High Sierra iMac.
It is also required if you want to do wireless syncing of a Mac's iTunes library with an iOS device.

Are there any other reasons, anyone? Curious because I have two Macs that have wired Ethernet connections.

Yes, that is correct, it is required for Airdrop to work. So it will stay on for me.
