Any Police Officers here?

- If you are a Peace Officer I have a couple of questions:

A) Is it possible to fail the Police Academy? And if so how?

B) Are you a RCMP, and if so why did you choose to be with the RCMP, rather then city police?

C) What should you expect on the Police Civil Exam?

D) What do they ask you when they do the psychological examinations?

E) Would someone of 150 pounds at 6 foot 3 be too small?

I think you would be too small, get some muscle, I know someone that height and weight, he is just about the lankiest person I've ever seen. You need to start working out. I don't mean any offense but if your want to be an officer and you are trying to catch someone you would need to have some muscle mass to get them down and handcuff them.

my friend gained 80 lbs two years after graduating from a police academy and working as an officer of the peace.

he was in good shape before too... now he's just your typical fat cop.

My brother just got hired at the Toronto Regional Police as a court officer.

He just started his training a few weeks ago.

Don't worry about your size, I'm 5" 8' and my brother's shorter than me by an inch or two, and He's also only about 130-140 pounds. If he can get in, you can DEFINITELY get in

I'm a special constable with Dorset Police in the UK. For those in the US and abroad it means I do the job voluntarily but still wear the same uniform and have the same powers of arrest.

We have to wear the most impractical headgear though.

It seems you are asking about being a Canadian peace officer on an international forum, no offense, but since you are asking specific requirements, you might be best to ask directly to the academy or RCMP.

YES
oh the number of ways...cheating, being stupid, and breaking law are probably the top 3

NOPE
Cant join either but did apply to RCMP over VPD since get to work more interesting forensic work AND good changes of doing overseas work.
the biggest con with RCMP is the pretty much put you where they want, where as with local force you stay in the geographical area.

C) What should you expect on the Police Civil Exam?

Lots of logic and memory testing. kind off can you keep details straight and pick out the relevant bits.
Also test your ability to write coherent sentences and paragraphs with meaningful neutral info.

D) What do they ask you when they do the psychological examinations?

OHH EVERYTHING. from what drugs you do, how often, how much you steal... to do you like Anal and threesomes plus more mundane ones like name age etc. , how you would react in situation X then how that diff if knew Y about the situation...

E) Would someone of 150 pounds at 6 foot 3 be too small?

not really. if you are lean not skinny is OK though you will prob need to bulk up a little more. make sure you upper body strength is good.
