I'm considering upgrading to OS Sierra from El Capitan and would be much more likely to do so if it might help with an issue I have been experiencing with El Capitan.
As I posted in a different thread
https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...afari-is-still-running-in-background.2004386/
I have noticed that the indicator dots that are supposed to appear under icons in the Dock of apps that are running sometimes don't work properly in El Capitan. I will close a Safari window and go about doing work in other apps, all the while thinking that Safari is completely closed. In the dock, there will be no indication that Safari is still open. Yet if I check for apps that are still running in the background by opening the Force Quit menu (CMD-OPT-ESC), it turns out that Safari is still active in the background even though it's not showing in the dock.
Has anyone seen this behavior in OS Sierra?
