I dont like iphoto b/c it makes you d'led every single image...is there a program that doesnt do that for pics? I like the pc's interface better where you can just go directly to the camera folder and drag pics.
 
Thanks! this program is way better...now how do I UNmake iphoto the default? is that possible?

Open Image Capture, press "Cmd+," to open the prefences menu. There should be a preference there to idicate what to do when a camera is attached (open iPhoto, Image Capture, or nothing).

And yes, it is silly to have this in image capture but not iPhoto).

You can do that through Finder. However, I've read that some Canon cameras don't allow Finder access, but that's not a fault of OSX.
