I know a lot of people on this forum were running the Watch OS3 beta, along with the beta versions of iOS 10. For us non-developers, is there any reason you saw with the most recent betas to NOT upgrade? Battery draining, Watch/phone freezing up, Apps not working right, quirky behavior with phone, etc.

My wife and I both have original AW Sports running WOS 2.2.2 and iOS 9.3.5 on iPhone 6Ps. We are not having any problems, other than the normal slowness of Apps. I typically avoid the first major versions of a new OS, but the new WOS sounds compelling for the upgraded speed alone.

I can wait for 10.1/3.1, if the new release versions still have issues to be worked out with the older devices.

When are the new versions supposed to be available for the masses? I.e non-developers

The official release for WatchOS 3 is 13th September :) I'm so excited to try it out myself as the wait has been long so hopefully it won't drain the battery too quickly.

The only reason I can think of is if you aren't able to upgrade your phone to iOS 10. My iPhone is jailbroken on 9.3.3 so I won't be jumping to watch os 3 for a little while.

My phone is not jailbroken, so I do not have that concern.

Battery life and performance are stellar on WatchOS 3. Truly massive improvements over WatchOS 2.

What about iOS 10 on the older iPhone 6P in terms of battery life and performance? I am thinking of moving to the 7P, but that will have to wait until I can justify the cost of a new phone. (no more $200 phones from AT&T)

I have a 6s. If anything, I think the performance is better. Battery life (as the GM is new) - I'm at 91%, since taking it off of the charger at 7am this morning. (just shy of 6 hours).

I always wait for X.1 iOS releases, so I'm in the same boat. It is mildly frustrating that the watchOS requires the absolute newest iOS build. Very typical Apple move.

Since the series 2 watch has watch os 3 already on it do I have to have my Iphone 6 on ios 10 to pair it together when it comes in? I actually had been thinking about not upgrading the 6 to ios 10 for fear of it slowing it down since it is now 3 year old device basically.

Yes, watch os 3 requires iOS 10

My biggest complaint is how slow the AW is to launch 3rd party apps. If WatchOS3 can fix that then I'll be happy.

I've been using the watch for 8 hours now, since 9:00 am (it's almost 5:00 pm here in Rio). I've been using it quite intensely as I was installing more apps throughout the day (but I did not work out during lunch time, TBT). The battery is now at 76%, watchOS 3 GM. Fantastic update for the Apple Watch - it is so good that I feel like this update made the Apple Watch become a full-fledged product, instead of a "beta device" with some future potential. It's impressive how faster it feels when you're using the older Apple Watch with watchOS 3.

Very promising, I'd love to get to a 2 day battery life (38mm), looking for ward to next week!

I've been wondering about battery life on WatchOS 3, and happy to hear yours has been stellar. Do you have a 38 or a 42 (since the battery is bigger in the 42)?

It's a 42. Yes, the battery is bigger in the 42 than the 38, but so is the screen. :) So, 2:47pm, been off the charger since 7am and I have 85% battery so far today. (been a light day for usage though too).
No complaints.

Sounds promising! Thanks.

I guess one reason is if your favorite app still don't update for it. Remember, there's no Glance anymore.
