Saw this refurb on apple's website:

Would I be benefitting buying that over the new entry 15" mbp? I'm an advertising student so I'll be using adobe creative suite mostly to comp ads up so I won't be working with hi-res photo files that often. I qualify for the student discount so there's only $100 difference. I'd appreciate your opinions. Thanks.

You may benefit from the quad core in the new MBP. Also resale value in 3 years will be much better then on the refurb your looking at.

Thanks for the comments! I'm also curious how the 2.7 ghz 13" model would serve my needs. How does the dual core vs quad core effect programs like Photoshop and illustrator?

Not really familiar with advertising use of a computer, but I would think that the larger 15" screen (maybe high-res and anti-glare) would serve well during ad work. Since you will be staring at the screen 100% of the time you use the computer, I think it would be worth it to invest in the 15".
