USB-C to HDMI 2.1 Cable Matters adapter. Clearly the new MBP TB4/USB4 port can handle it, but can the chips?
The description notes M1 cannot, but that description has been there for a year and isn't updated. With all the moaning about how the new HDMI port is only 2.0 and can't handle 4K 120Hz, we need to know definitively if the TB4/USB4 combined with these new MBP M1 Pro/Max can do this or not.
I asked the question on Amazon, and Cable Matters responded saying it cannot. But that just might be an employee that's been saying that for a year. If the new MBPs can't, we need to know it, and why.
