Are there any videos or photos of the size comparison of the 2015 vs the new 2016s of the 15 inchers. I went to apple today and they had the nMBP 13" w/o touch bar and man is that thing light. It makes my current 2015 13" seems like a brick!
I normally like the smaller one for travel reason. But as a video editor, I could always use the dGPU and quad core chips. With the new ones being lighter, i wonder if I could suffer for the size. But this won't be my main computer just a portable for quick edits etc.

I've been wondering about this too. I'm upgrading from an 11" MBA and am torn between the portability of the 13" v the bigger screen size of the 15". The 15" MBPs I've seen were pretty big beasts to cart around and use on the move, but could I get away with a 15" and no external monitor?

Or am I just kidding myself and I'll end up with a nice big external 27" screen anyway...

15" screen is the limiting factor.
cMBP
0.95 x 14.35 x 9.82
rMBP
0.71 x 14.13 x 9.73
tMBP
0.61 x 13.75 x 9.48

Delta cMBP vs tMBP
0.34 x 0.6 x 0.34

Delta rMBP vs tMBP
0.1 x 0.38 x 0.25

13" vs 15" big difference in portability.
13" w/ 24"-32" 4k monitor vs 15" big difference is usability.

If you've been using an 11-inch MacBook Air, you obviously don't need the performance of the 15-inch, so I would definitely get the 13-inch and an external monitor. I only ordered the 15-inch because the additional performance is of benefit to me, and I only take it with me when I need to do something my iPad Pro can't handle. You're still getting a larger display on the go than what you have.
