Skype is a essential for me, and having the built-in mic on my PowerBook G4 helps a lot but I also have some issues with Skype.

One issue is that I can't use video. Does this Skype version not support video calling?

Thanks:D

Here's a screenshot of the Skype I am using.

A consequence of Microsoft cutting off PowerPC support for Skype some time ago was that even though a workaround exists to fake our way back on to Skype – there is no longer any video. Only voice.

If you want video you'll have to use an Intel Mac.

Microsoft has been much better than apple when it comes to supporting old stuff. I recently patched Office on ppc to open the .docx formats they use now. I wonder if they could be persuaded to keep skype going.

I though video worked when you were calling another person with the same version of Skype...
Does it? If so, I didn't know. Around the time MS pulled support for Skype and everyone went looking to fix it, I stopped having a need for Skype anymore!

I think I called Gavin with video on my iBook onetime.
