I really love Universal Control feature that came out on macOS a few years back but it keeps disconnecting after 10-15min forcing me to reconnect and making the feature almost useless.

From what I read online, this was a big issue when the feature came out but apple has fixed it with recent macOS version. But for many users online, the issue still persists when using 3rd party mouse or keyboard like I do. I use a MX Master 3S mouse I imagine this is the reason it keeps happening. And was wondering if anyone that was experiencing this issue found a solutions?

Thanks

I'm having similar issues even though I'm using all Apple input devices. When I got my M4 mini, I put my iPad nearby, but UC disconnected so often (and lately, the pointer often fails to reappear on the Mac), that I've stopped using UC for now.

Prior the issue I'm having with the pointer, I was making do with just reconnecting it. Adding the display settings icon to the menu bar at least let me see if the iPad was connected or not, and provided a quick way to reconnect it if not.

I'm having the same trouble, disconnects frequently and often puts the two computers the wrong way around so you have to re-arrange.
I think it might be because I'm using a Logitech MX mouse and keyboard that's linked to both..... has anyone had any success with the standard Apple Mouse and keyboard?

I was trying out Universal Control again given the new windowing options in iPadOS 26. It was disconnecting every 10-15 seconds and was completely unusable. This was both with wifi and with a USB-C connection. I’d figured it was an issue between macOS 15.7 and iPadOS 26 and would go away when I updated my Mac.

I would never have guessed it could even possibly be related to the keyboard or mouse I had connected. I have an MX Master 3S too, connected with the USB dongle and not Bluetooth. I’ll have to play around and give it a try some other ways.
