Hi .I was wondering if anyone still uses crt monitors or has anyone purchase brand new one recently. Thanks

Yes

I use a large 15" apple (greenish blue) CRT that I use on my mac mini, it is my work computer and I am tech support for a mid size school district so I use what is available, but it works.

:(

I use LCDs at work and CRTs at home. I won't get an LCD at home until they have equivalent color and brightness range, equivalently fast refresh, and are cheaper.

I use a lame Compaq S510 from the early nineties (14") with my lame Athlon windoze rubbish PC!

Can't wait to to move to mac!

Multiple.

See my .sig for my main.

I also have a PeeCee with a 17" Philips CRT, and my collection of old Macs includes many CRTs. Any future monitor purchases, however, will be LCDs (with an exception for old Macs.)

I use my 22" NEC multisync running at an eye-straining 2048 x 1536 pixels. :) It's used mainly for video related work for proper color correction of images and you can't beat the response times.

Yes, we have two computers using CRTs. Our main comp has a 17" NEC monitor on it and we have a server computer with a 15" NEC monitor. In fact, the only LCD we have is on my laptop.

20" CRT over here.

Id love to have an LCD but I dont feel like spending the dough on one plus they dont seem to last and produce the same amount of quality as a CRT.

I use a shuttle lcd monitor Its great .But i was considering selling to get an lcd and purchase a mac mini.hmmm

I have a 19" CRT and a 19" LCD. The CRT is going away though now that I have an iMac. I can run dual displays with the hack and still use my LCD with my PC (dual inputs). Are you looking to buy and wanted advice? Try Craigslist for some good deals on used monitors.

Ah, posted at the same time you did. Still, Craigslist.

Yup. Desktop has CRT. The only other computers are all laptops.

All the computers at school are CRTs, too. But all of my friends have LCDs.

/stuck in the CRT-age
//Hmm.. maybe when we get that new iMac!
///Haaaa...

I have a DELL 17" CRT that I use sometimes. I like how it can display all the resolutions and still look "clear", but the way they appear to blink (I know you can adjust the refresh rate) kills my eyes. So, I use my iBook hooked to my 17" LCD.

Yes, the color is noticeably worse though. :)

I still have a 17" Studio Display (VGA version) and a 17" Viewsonic (can't remember model) CRT that I use with my PC, and I recently bought a Samsung LT-P1545 15" LCD TV for $175 that I use with my iBook. Both iBook and LCD are natively 1024x768, so it works out well.

I still use a 17" gateway CRT. I also have a 12" apple one, but it just sits in storage

i have an KDS crt now attached to my iBook now that ive discovered the screen spanning hack. It actually belongs to my learner pc. But windows is unbearable to use, so it sits and collects dust.

IBM G94 19". It's a great screen until I have to haul it around to LAN parties. That and my G5. They're quite a burden both of them.

>>For some types of Pro level graphics work...CRT is still king. LCD is not good enough. If you've ever seen a *professionally* calibrated LaCie CRT monitor, LCD looks quite lame in comparison.

I use a 24" Dell lcd.

peace

I have a 17' Asis CRT and a Apple ADC CRT. Both are great, both are massive.
