Don't keep it plugged in all the time. That is not good for the battery. Don't let it drain to zero on a regular basis. Try and keep it between 20 - 80%. Do that and your battery should last longer. health wise.

The best article I know for maximizing battery life is from Apple:

Tech Republic also had a good article on extending battery capacity.

Do not take the battery to 0% always before charging and also don't keep it near 100% battery always.

I recommend sticking with Apple and MFi chargers and cables. Keeping charge between 30-90%. Try not to use it while it’s charging. Avoid overheating.

I didn’t care about that stuff with previous iPhone/iPad and the battery health was terrible.

iPad Pro 12.9 2020
98 cycles 87% battery health 😩
70% of the time I’ve used it has been plugged to an AC. I recommend to keep the battery between 20 an 80 %. I don’t know if that would improve my battery health but keeping it plugged in to an AC has certainly not.

87% is terrible after one year with 98 cycles. Maybe it doesn’t sound as a lot but it drains very fast, forget a screen brightness above 50 %
