SwipeSelection or SwiftShiftCaret

They both do same thing. Instead of pressing/holding to move the text cursor, with SwipeSelection you can just swipe across the keyboard. Much faster and more accurate. Hold shift while swiping to select the text.

SwiftShiftCaret does the same thing, but you do the swiping across the actual words you've just typed. Your finger gets in the way, so in a way, SwipeSelection seems more convenient. However, SwipeSelection disables the native function where you can swipe from the Symbols toggle to the symbol character for quick punctuation/number input. I personally use that function often, so I prefer SwiftShiftCaret.

iKeyWi

Adds a 5th row to the keyboard (which can be customized).

One of my favorite and most useful apps/tweaks!

These are great, thank you!

I had swipeselection, but was looking for more!

I'll try out 5th row. It doesn't look too bulky does it?

whao just got ikeywi!

loved it! Not only you can customize each new button for a different letter/emoji...you can even add a phrase and such!

Thanx for the suggestion!

and this also works in QR and QC for Bite!

Does it make the other keys smaller to get the extra row in there? iPhone keys are pretty small as it is...

If it does, it's barely noticeable. I haven't had any issues typing with the iKeyWi keyboard layout as opposed to the stock keyboard.

I co-sign swipeshiftcaret. Much less buggy than swipeselection. But the reason I'm posting is because I don't believe I'm aware of that native feature you are referring to. Can you explain it a little more? I might find it useful. Thanks!

On the keyboard, place your finger on the "123" toggle. Don't release your finger, but you'll notice that it brings up the Numbers/Symbols keyboard. Again, without releasing, slide your finger to the number/symbol you'd like to input. Voila.

The same works for entering capitalized letters from the shift button.

I downloaded swipeselection and resprung but how do I turn it on? I don't see anything in settings and it doesn't seem to have automatically turned on.

It should already be activated. SwipeSelection doesn't have any toggles, icons, or menus. Just start swiping across the keyboard. Hold the shift button to select text as you swipe.

Hm - you learn something new every day. Saves me a tap - thanks (although I'm actually faster toggling them on/off with a quick tap at this point, this is still neat!).

Oh awesome! I never knew that. Thanks for the explanation.
