Any US 3G Buyers able to Port over Verizon Number?

Before I try a late day line, I was wondering if anyone who has gotten a 3G phone (at Apple or ATT) was successful in porting over an existing Verizon number. I ask because of concerns I have regarding activation issues highlighted in other threads. Please post your Porting experiences here.
