I want to try and use an iDVD menu theme as video in a Final Cut project- is there any way of exporting video from iDVD?

I tried saving the DVD project as a disc image and then using MPEG streamclip to convert the menu but it only captures the first 10 seconds of animation, not the complete 30 second loop...

Burn the DVD then use handbrake to rip the DVD to your computer....
thats the only way i can think of doing it

Instead of doing that I would look for a high quality screen capture utility ( that can do high framerate video ) and just capture it live from the iDVD "preview" menu ( whatever that's called... the live test )

Yes that's what I've ended up doing- using Snapz Pro X. Odd that there's no other way of doing it.
