I do a lot of outdoor gravel cycling wearing Shokz open-ear headphones to hear my surroundings, and my Workout Buddy alerts are way too low. I adjust the volume while they are playing and can hear them, but the volume adjustment doesn't persist. I can adjust Siri responses while they are playing back and they persist, but Workout Buddy doesn't. Is there a way to adjust Workout Buddy response volume and make it persist?

I turned on workout buddy a few days ago just to hear what it would say (I have no need for motivation during my workouts) and I have not heard a single thing in the last four days. So I'm interested to see what others say...

Control Center, connect your earbuds to your apple watch, then adjust them using the volume switch.

Mines I can hear clearly

Are you using non-AirPods and if so, do you have them paired to both your phone and watch? I’m using Shokz which are just paired to my phone but they do support multi-pairing.

I don’t use any third party earbuds. AirPods only.

If you’re using third party like that brand you mentioned or JBL then ofc make sure they aren’t connected to anything other than the Apple Watch or iPhone

You need to have a supported workout (weight training, running, walking or cycling) running on either device and using it that is connected to the earbuds.
