Any way to change the Dock?

Transdock and Candybar aren't working with Mavericks so I'm wondering is there any way to change the Dock background manually?

I tried putting images into the core services/dock/resources folder even though it over writes the dock images when I relaunch the dock nothing changes.

Anyone have a solution to this problem?

Like in Mountain Lion, the dock is drawn by software, so you can't change it with images like you could in Lion.

you can get it transparent if you want that mirage works fine in ML haven't tried it in mav yet
