I have the 15" 2011 mpb and I'm struggling with uneven temperatures under load in Windows. In OS X the machine runs really good with idle temperatures around 30-40 C. Under heavy load, 80-85.
In Windows it seems that the fans kick in too late. Under load, temps go up to around 95(sometimes higher) only to stabilize around 80-85 later when the fans are responding.
I know that the computer is built to handle high temps but when it's near tjmax I'm getting concerned.
I'd love to be able to control fans like I can in OS X with smcFanControl.
Is there any way?

If you set the fanspeed with smcfancontrol and then restart into Windows the settings will remain in force. They only change upon a shutdown and poweroff

That's great! Thanks.
I wish there was a simpler way but that will do.
