Any way to exclude IM contacts from syncing to my iPhone?

I recently went through and added names to some of my iChat contacts that I'm lacking phone numbers for. They then went and sync'd to my iPhone, without phone numbers. Is there some way to make it so that contacts with only IM info do not sync to my phone?
