As the title says..
Basically I'm having this problem with kernel_task - something in there, and I have no clue what, is eating up all my RAM. Takes up 465mb on startup! No CPU though.. well no more than usual I presume, about 0.20%.
On a recently new 2011" Macbook Pro 2.2GHz 15".. 10.6.7.
There have been a few troubles with it otherwise.. including very high temperatures - could this be to do with it? I heard that high temperature causes more kernal usage, or did I hear it wrong..
I'm sure a clean install MIGHT solve the issue but my backup drive failed so having to wait a few weeks til I can backup again!
