Any way to import HEVC/HEIF to Sierra?

Seems like Photos or Image Capture in Sierra do not import the photos/videos shot on iOS 11 if "high efficiency" is selected.

Did anyone figure out a way to import these files until the 25th? There are 3rd party apps that can play HEVC videos on mac OS but can't import the damn files.
