Any way to keep an application from seeing a font

So I have two applications. One has a bug that if the Arial font is installed, has no text when you launch it under 10.5. My work around for a while has been to just keep Arial disabled in fontbook. I recently got a new application that throws an exception if Arial is disabled in Fontbook. I'd like be able to configure something so that if app A launches it doesn't see Arial, but if app B launches it does. Any suggestions?
