does anybody know?

I'm chronically low on HD spcae on my computer, so i don't want to have 10-15 videos sitting around on my HD when I'll only be watching them on my iPod. I can acomplish this with manual management, but when I try to update my songs, I frequently get VERY annoying doubles.

I don't know what to do, because iTunes nukes my videos if I turn on automatic updating for music, even if video management is off.

What about if you create a music smart playlist that happens to have every song in your library in it, by using the right criteria? And then set the iPod to sync that playlist, rather than all songs?

The other idea I have is, do the videos have the blue check box next to them? Can you deselect them, and then set your iPod to not sync unchecked content?

The videos are only on my ipod. I want them to stay there, and not be on my computer. If I select automatic updating of any set of music, the videos get zapped VERY quickly.
