Looking to take advantage of the iPhone XS dual SIM feature to get my Apple Watch cellular working in more than just my home market.

Per the below article it looks like adding another cellular plan will do the trick:

However, I’m guessing this won’t work yet with Google Fi since it doesn’t officially support Apple Watch cellular, right?

A plan that I could activate for say a month at a time and then pause for several months until I’m back in the US would be ideal.

As a follow-up question, if you did add Google Fi to your iPhone the iPhone will only be able to use T-Mobile. And T-Mobile supports the Apple Watch. So even if Google Fi does not support the Apple Watch I’m wondering if I could add a separate T-Mobile Apple Watch plan directly with T-mobile?

doubt it. google fi needs to do something like tmos digits where you get a different number that links to yr phone....

I’m also a Fi user and been researching how to get a LTE watch to Fi. From what I’ve found Apple uses a proprietary eSIM delivery method for the Apple Watch and phones which google doesn’t support. That’s why you can get Fi on an XS/XR but not with eSIM but nano SIM only. I’m sure in time there will be a way to get a watch onto Fi but for now I think the answer is no.
