here's my problem - my little brother deleted my account from Mail. i still had heaps of stuff in inbox that i needed, and now that he's set up a new account in Mail it looks like all of my stuff is gone. but i still have a folder in ~/Library/Mail that has the name of my old account. it also has my old INBOX.mbox file in there. i'm just wondering if there is any way to open that file again in Mail? i already tried double-clicking on it, and that just opened it in a new mail window and displayed it like an attachment.

i can open it in TextEdit, but i don't really want to have to sift through all that code, so i would really appreciate any help.

thanks people! :D

Have you tried creating another new account and copying the Inbox.mbox directory from your deleted account to the new account?

What you need to do is to import the mail box through Mail.
To do this follow these steps:
1) Open up Mail
2) From the menu bar File>Import Mailboxes...
3) Follow the instructions on the screen.

Hope that helps
