Any way to remove the period key next to "go" when in the browser bar?

It's there because the bar is an address/URL bar (in addition to being a search bar) and the '.' is used a lot in URLs. Now, they could have probably found a better placement for it on the keyboard maybe, but that's essentially the reason why it's there in that context.
And, no, there's no way to remove or move it, aside from a jailbreak tweak of some sort perhaps.

I agree its dumb because its also near the space bar so when I'm trying to type fast I also hit the . all the time intend of the space bar. Its in a terrible place.
I dont see why someone needs it, most websites only need like one period anyways. There should at least be an option to put the google bar back.
Well it was a search bar, you could change it in settings to be yahoo, bing or google.
The search bar is now incorporated into the URL Bar for simplicity.
A lot of browsers do this now.

I understand the one bar thing, i like it. I dont like the keyboard that comes up when i am using safari.
They simply encorporated the search into the address bar, as many browsers do now. The search functionality is still there and can be set to use Google or another provider.
I never hit the . But then, I'm a lefty and only use my left thumb. I can see how a righty may have problems though.
I overlook it's placement due to it's functionality. A lot of people don't know this but if you hold it....
