I have an iPad 3 with 5.1.1 and I want to restore it to factory settings.

iTunes is telling me that any restore will restore and upgrade to the latest iOS6.

I want to restore and keep my current version 5.1.1 because I want to explore the option of jailbreaking.

Is there any way to do this?

If you have your shsh blobs saved for 5.1.1 then you can re-restore using the latest version of redsn0w.

If that all sounds like gibberish to you, chances are you won't be able to do it.

Were you previously jailbroken on 5.1.1?
