any way to save video from a news website?

I would like to save a video that is posted on a news website. Any of doing this besides just sending the link of the video to people?

Depending on what browser you are using, I know there is a plug in for firefox I believe called redant? That copies the flash content in the video to a file on your computer.

The FlashGot extension for Firefox is able to capture most videos from website including those that aren't using Flash.

This has worked for me with Firefox. Then you can convert from flv to another format with programs like VisualHub.

I found this which works fine for youtube videos:

Haven´t tried it on anything else though. Someone once explained to me how to save youtube-videos directly without having to use any tool or supportive website but I forgot whether it actually worked or not.

If anyone here knows, please post it.

It's not free, but Snapz Pro X is a program that will enable you to do this.
