Any way to sell a 3G iPad but keep the unlimited data?

I'd love to sell my 3G iPad2 in advance of the iPad3 announcement but I don't want to lose my unlimited plan. Is there any way to do this? Last time I kept my iPad until I had the 2 in-hand, but the iPad lost a couple hundred more in value.

Alternatively, is there a safe way to sell the iPad2 w/ the data plan?

Just take out the SIM before you sell it, and when you buy the new iPad, put your old SIM in it.

But what happens when the new buyer goes to ATT for a SIM and has to register it with the IMEI? Won't that cancel my unlimited plan?

No, the plan is tied to the SIM, not to the IMEI or anything else.
