iPhone XS any way to set phone so when beatsx paired, calls still automatically come from speaker

basically I often have my earphones paired as ive walked into work listening to music, and at a quiet moment I might listen to music or language lessons through my headphones. most of the day though my beatsx are round my neck not in my ear.

but when my phone rings it comes up with a choice, but automatically defaults to headphones. this does make sense for most people but any way to over ride this?
