Any way to store iTunes account and password?

Is there any way to store my iTunes store account and password in a Keychain Access item?

I found an old article that said you should check the box next to "remember password for purchasing" when logging in but this doesn't appear.

I've also tried manually creating a new password item but have had no luck.

I'm using Mac OSX 10.5.7 and iTunes 8.2.
