Any way to transfer text from one backup to another

Is there any way to transfer text messages saved to one phone to another without losing anything? My 3G and 3GS obviously had different backups and would like to transfer the newer text messages that's on my 3G to my 3GS without losing the older ones that's already on my 3GS.

Is there anyway to combine the 2? Thanks.

Yes. Both are JB to get them unlocked. I was looking around a bit and noticed there's a way to transfer photos too so they all show in in the camera roll?
