Any way to upgrade SL to Lion directly from Lion Server in same network?

I thought to have read you can 'migrate' a Snow Leopard to Lion when I bought the Mac-mini with Lion Server (one reason to buy it as Server) ... no trace to be found ...?
Anybody having a clue if that ever worked?
