Any way to use a different email with messages?

Hey all.

I have an iMac, iPhone 4S, and a New iPad.

I am about to go on a trip to Colorado and wanted to setup messages and FaceTime so my wife and kids can talk to me on the iPad or my iPhone. The issue is since all are on the same apple ID when we use Messages for instance, it always shows like I am talking to myself.

I have added another email associated to the account and it still shows dumb in messages. Is there a way to fix this?

Or would I have to associate a different apple id on each for this?

I resolved this.

All I did was manually go into settings and use a different apple ID just for FaceTime and Messages. Keeping my main ID for store purchases so everything is still synced.

Messages worked mine for me when I used the iMac to message my wife and her iphone 4s. The email was the same and it worked.
