Hi All,

I bought my first MacBook Pro (used) over the weekend and erased the OS so I could re-install clean OS.

Problem is that the person I bought the MacBook Pro from included MacBook install DVDs instead of MacBook Pro install DVDs so I keep getting an error saying "Mac OS X cannot be installed on this computer"

Is there any way to get around this issue?

Thanks,

Dan.

I contact him last night but he told me those were the only discs he could find. He said he'd look for them again but couldn't promise anything.

Anything else I can do? My MBP is useless right now. :(

Thanks,

Dan.

not ideal but you could buy a retail copy of leopard

alternatively find someone with macbook pro discs willing to lend them to you

Thanks for the advice.

I just went out and bought the retail version of Leopard (since I'm new to Mac and just want to make sure everything is working as it should).

Thanks for your replies.

Dan.
