Hey everyone, complete newbie here so apologies if this has already been discussed. Is there any way to use my Macbook pro Keyboard and trackpad as the input devices for my iPad? I'd rather not buy a separate bluetooth keyboard and trackpad when I already have perfectly functional keyboard and trackpad on my MBP. I'm open to 3rd party software solutions too if that is the only way.

Just to confirm, I'm talking about the built-in Keyboard and Trackpad on my MacBook Pro. I can connect via bluetooth, but I still don't see how I can use the built in Keyboard and Trackpad to control my iPad

Oh sorry I misunderstood what you meant. I’m not aware of any way to use a laptop keyboard and trackpad for another device. Maybe cmaier knows a method.

I honestly don’t think that’s possible. About the only way that could work is via some type of software trying to bridge the hardware to talk to the iPad. I mean, you can always use Sidebar to interact with them both... however you won’t be using iPadOS.

You can't, those are hardwired to your computer.

You can use your iPad Pro or other as “sidecar” with your macbook. as a secon monitor, which will enable the trackpad and keyboard. Link below.
Sidecar
