Is there any app to watch YouTube on the iphone that won't show you comments? I don't watch YouTube on my phone because of the disgusting comment section so if there's a player which doesnt show them at all, I want it

I also watch youtube from Safari, had long deleted app from all my devices. Huge plus is that you can also skip ads by swiping to refresh the page two times consequentially right when ad starts and you will watch video ad-free. To actually read comments you gotta click to open comment section, it is hidden by default

sorry to be pedantic but I dont even want the option to check the comments on my phone...

alternatively its because there are certain youtube videos I want to block (and thousands of urls) but I dont know how to block them using safari without the option to turn off a block

yes I am very hardcore when it comes to blocking stuff that has detrimented my life

Either use Safari in “Reader Mode” or “Restricted Mode”.

I prefer just to watch YouTube via the app and if I don’t want to see the comments, I won’t click on the comments icon.

The unhook extension lets you customize youtube in safari. I don't really use youtube, but I have it set to block comments, suggested and trending videos, autoplay and shorts, for the few times I need it.

Is Restricted Mode on the site itself? I have bad self control

My mistake, Restricted Mode on the YouTube site will only filter out inappropriate content with the comments section mostly remaining visible and accessible.

You can use a RSS app like Reeder on all your devices. You simply import all of your fav channels and get to watch everything add free within the apps video player

Click the theater mode icon (rectangle next to the full-screen button). Scroll up slightly to keep the video in view and hide the comments.
