if so, could you please explain to me how to install "mfc42.dll" the app i'm trying to open says it missing. the winehq wiki says to use winetricks but i can't figure it out.

Google mfc42.dll (http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?mfc42) and acquire it.

Go to Wine's "C drive", and to the folder where your application and its files are stored. Put the .dll in there.

Should work now, unless there are some other problems.
